Ok, I admit it: I looooove organizing. Neat stacks of tins, perfectly folded sweaters and socks bundled together in pairs. It all gives me a sweet sensation of order and perfection, and makes it so much easier to find what I’m looking for as well as a warm, happy feeling every time I open a drawer or a cupboard.
And you know what? You can do it too! Naturally you don’t have to organize everything at the same time, since that would probably be too large a project. But start with a kitchen drawer or cupboard, and feel the pleasure when you are done. That will inspire you to do the next one. And the next one. And the next one. And then, suddenly, you’re done!
Before Starting: Prepare
Once you actually start, you don’t want to interrupt the job to go to the store to get containers and labels, so spend a little time before to make sure you have everything at hand.
Print stickers online to make labels, and get glass containers for flour, nuts, sprouts, lentils and other staples. Don’t forget small containers for your spices, that will really improve the look of your cupboards.
Pour And Stack
Now let’s get going! Place all dry goods in containers and label them. Do the same with the spices. Get rid of all the non-matching packets and jars, and instead put neatly matching jars and containers in your cupboard. Close the doors. Open the doors and admire your job and the lovely order you have created.
